On the Move: Changes at Blue Ant, Yulu, Counsel

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

Blue Ant Media appointed ANDREW LANE as director of digital solutions in its media solutions division. He will oversee development and creation of branded video, web and mobile content for clients and lead monetization opportunities for the media company’s domestic digital products. He is leaving Weber Shandwick, where he led the agency’s content team for more than six years. Lane has worked with clients such as McCormick, Unilever, 3M, Sysomos and Ontario Tourism.

ROB PERSIKO joined The Mobile Experience Company as head of retail and shopper engagement. The former global director of shopper marketing at Unilever Global has over 28 years of industry experience in shopper insights and category management. At MobileXCo, Persiko will lead the new business unit, develop new retail accounts, and will contribute to the agency’s U.S. growth strategy.

Yulu PR announced CLARE HAMILTON-EDDY as its new managing director. Previously, she was at Peak Communications, onechocolate communications and Newsquest. She has worked with clients in the past including Coca-Cola, Nokia, Telus and Coast Capital Savings. Hamilton-Eddy has experience with strategic planning, project management, coaching, and issues and crisis management.

Yield Branding added KATHERINE VAVILOVA as a project manager and NHAN DO as a designer on its brand advisory team. The hires follow several new business wins including the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, LMS Prolink and VSP VisionCare. Vavilova and Do will be working with clients such as Equifax, Polar Asset Management Partners, Porsche and OMA Insurance.

TARA WOOD was announced as Counsel’s new vice-president. She brings over 12 years of experience in corporate and financial communications. Most recently, Wood worked at Scotiabank in executive communication, and has experience working on the PR agency side with a wide range of clients.

M&H brought on SUE THOMS as an integrated production director and CLAIRE MCRAE as a production director at its Toronto office. Thoms, who was previously a print producer at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, has worked on accounts like Tim Hortons, Unilever Canada, Pepsi, Scotiabank and Sunwing Airlines. McRae was most recently at Hogarth Worldwide as a senior production manager working primarily on The&Partnership and print production for Telus.
