CBC named TARA ELLIS as executive director of scripted content. Most recently the senior director of original drama content for Shaw Media, Ellis oversaw original scripted drama and comedy programming. In her new role, she will lead CBC’s scripted content teams, focusing on comedy, drama, kids programming and digital originals.
Zulu Alpha Kilo promoted ROB FEIGHTNER from group account director to client services director. Prior to joining Zulu, he was managing director at Taxi. JAMIE MURPHY joined the agency as director of talent and culture and KERRY MCKIBBIN joined as group account director. TERRI MATTUCCI was named account director. And, after five years at Zulu, CFO DAVID SO has added chief operating officer to his title. He will continue to manage the financial team, but will also be responsible for day-to-day operations.
DHX Television announced MICHAEL SERAFINI as its new VP of programming. In his role, Serafini will oversee the strategic development, execution and promotion of the DHX Television channels and their digital extensions while strengthening DHX’s brand. He was most recently the interim executive director of content planning for CBC Television.
Brill Communications hired CHARLEY VARANELLI as an account manager and GRAZIELLA FADEL as a bilingual account executive. Varanelli was an account executive at Faulhaber Communications for the past two years, handling brands like Ted Baker London and Bacardi Canada. Fadel was previously at Duet PR as an account coordinator, and has worked on an array of lifestyle, charity and food and beverage brands including Jax Coco, DermaSpark and Amici Camping Charity.
Maverick added MELANIE FILIPP as an account manager. Prior to her new role, Filipp was a marketing and PR manager at Cundari, where she managed external communications, agency profile building and cultivated media relationships.
