Programmatic media buying company The Exchange Lab hired EDWARD LEE as vice-president of North American operations and business intelligence. Lee was previously director of consumer analytics at Indigo, where he managed loyalty programs and sales intelligence across in-store and online platforms. He has a wide range of past experience, having been a business and financial analyst, director of marketing sciences at Wunderman, and, back in the early 2000s, a product manager on Netscape at AOL Canada. In his new role at The Exchange Lab, Lee will focus on helping brands leverage their own first-party data to effectively reach consumers with online ads.
Bleublancrouge appointed a new management team of six new partners from within its ranks, including the promotion of former managing director JEAN-SÉBASTIEN MONTY to senior associate and president of the agency. The new team is composed of JONATHAN ROUXEL, who is now partner, VP creative director; DAVE GOURDE, partner, VP media; Marketing 30 Under 30 alumnus SIMON CAZELAIS, now partner, VP strategic development; MICHELLE ABOUD, partner, VP account services; and ÉLISE GUILLEMETTE, partner, VP brand language.
Vancouver-based creative agency Thinkingbox brought on a new creative director, CHRISTOPHER HALMINEN, to lead a new creative team at its Toronto office. Over more than 15 years in the industry, Halminen has held creative roles at OgilvyOne, Critical Mass and MacLaren McCann. Working alongside Vancouver creative director Troy Graham, Halminen will be tasked with expanding Thinkingbox’s Toronto office from a sales focus to a full creative offering. The agency says to expect more hires to come.
The & Partnership appointed ILANA ABRAHAMS-NOLTE president of its joint venture with GroupM, m/Six North America. Abrahams-Nolte will lead the media agency’s five offices across North America and facilitate The & Partnership’s access to GroupM’s global media network. In a release, The & Partnership touted Abrahams-Nolte’s background in data analytics, exemplified by her previous role as global group director, client solutions, at Omnicom’s central data science and technology agency, Annalect. Over nearly two decades in media planning, she’s also worked at OMD USA, MindShare London, Ogilvy Interactive New York, and Modem Media.
Media Profile promoted both JENNIFER ALSOP-LEE and STEPHANIE BELL to vice-president, where they will join the company’s senior management team and assume additional responsibilities in business development, operations and mentoring of junior staff. Both women have been with the company for more than a decade; Alsop-Lee currently leads clients such as Post Foods and PlayStation Canada, while Bell, who specializes in healthcare and corporate communications, works with AbbVie, Cancer Care Ontario and Ipsen Pharmaceuticals. The agency also promoted GEORGIA BOUTSALIS from account coordinator to consultant after a year with the firm, and shifted MARIANA BILBAO from an accounting administration role to PR, where she’ll begin as an account coordinator.
