On The Move: Changes at PayPal, Captivate, Suite 66

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

PayPal Canada appointed PAUL PARISI as its general director. In this new role, Parisi will be focused on driving the company’s next phase of growth. Parisi was previously vice-president and general manager of global commercial payments at American Express Canada.

Captivate promoted BARB HUGGETT to senior vice-president of advertising sales and general manager of Canada. She brings more than 20 years of media strategy, new business development and client relations experience, and in her six years at the location-based digital video network she has held roles including director of business development and vice-president of advertising sales, Canada. In her new role, Huggett will lead the strategy for both advertising sales and real estate sales in Canada.

MIKE TOPPING joined Suite 66 as national account executive. In this role, Topping, who has over a decade of experience in the digital space, will work on a range of major brands in the automotive, travel, home, and lifestyle verticals.

AskingCanadians promoted six team members. ROY GONSALVES was named senior vice-president of sales, AMBER BARTLETT was named vice-president of sales, DANNY TOMAS was promoted to associate team lead of programming, KAITLYN LORD was named project manager, LEAH ABELSON was promoted to senior project manager, and ADAM WHIBLEY transitioned to panel and data manager.

AMANDA NEWELL joined Our Homes Media Group as the magazine publisher’s first national director of sales. Her role will be to shape the national focus of the company’s magazine brands, as well as to showcase their appeal to advertisers. Newell has held strategic senior management positions at the CBC, The Toronto Star and Rogers Media.
