On The Move: Changes at Quarry, Rise and United Way

A weekly recap of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

Quarry announced MICHAEL PALMER as its new executive creative director. He has almost 20 years of experience in B2B and B2C, and most recently left Launch as its VP and creative director. He will lead all of Quarry’s design functions, including content creation, code design, user experience and visual design.

Rise Branded Entertainment hired JAMES FISHER as its new group account director. He was previously the senior director of strategy and client development at Mosaic Sales Solutions, responsible for accounts like Labatt Breweries, Unilever and General Mills. He brings entrepreneurship and innovation to the Rise branch of Universal Music Canada.

United Way of the Lower Mainland named STEPHEN WEBSTER as the new vice-president of marketing and communications. Previously the chief marketing and communications officer at the Vancouver Art Gallery where he used integrated marketing communications to build attendance and membership.

StubHub appointed JEFF POIRIER as its new country manager for Canada. He will be working to grow the company in the Canadian market, focusing on new products and current product enhancements to improve consumer experience. He was on the strategy and corporate development team at StubHub for three years.

Manifest Communications added MEGHAN SAVIGNY as its senior art director. She had more than a decade of experience as an art director in the advertising and design industry, with a history of working on social justice issues. JACQUELINE STEIN was also hired as an account supervisor. She brings several years of experience in project management and communications in Canada and abroad. SYDNEY STARKE was also promoted to an account executive position. She recently graduated with a PR designation and has a background in PR and communications.

Sharethrough hired LISA CHWASTIAK as a strategic account director. Chwastiak will work to increase the native advertising platform’s footprint in the Canadian market and grow its sales team. She has over 10 years of experience in digital media; most recently she was part of LinkedIn’s marketing solutions team.
