On the Move: Changes at Tag, Apex, Captivate and Juniper Park

Tag brought on IAN SCHWEY as VP and executive creative director, to oversee all brand clients across Tag’s network. Schwey spent six and a half years as a CD at DS+P, where he helped pitch and maintain business with GoodLife Fitness, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Whole Foods. In the past year, Schwey’s done creative work on a freelance basis for Zulu Alpha Kilo, Taxi and MacLaren McCann.

Ruckus Digital hired senior digital strategist MOE ARORA and social strategist SERGE LESHCHUK. Arora has operated as an independent marketing consultant for the past decade, and before that was national marketing director for Universal Canada. Leshchuk is a relative newcomer to the industry, having recently completed an internship at FleishmanHillard, where he managed social for Mars Canada brands Snickers, M&M’s and Uncle Ben’s.

Apex PR promoted JENNIFER STEIN to VP after seven years with the company. Stein will continue to lead accounts for clients like Walmart Canada and lawn and garden equipment company Husqvarna. Her team’s work for Walmart won the 2015 ACE Award for best creative campaign. Apex also announced it’s hired intern COLE DOUGLAS as a full-time account coordinator. Douglas’s work on client accounts like Walmart and Polysporin also earned him a public relations scholarship from Apex.

Juniper Park hired STEVEN TIAO as an art director and designer. The 2014 Young Lions gold winner has spent the past three years with Leo Burnett.

Office building elevator screen network Captivate made seven senior hires, including two VPs and two national sales directors, more than doubling its Canadian staff. BARB HUGGETT is now VP, advertising sales, returning to Captivate after a year as a senior national account executive at Dynamic Outdoor. Joining her is XIN GU as VP business development, real estate, who comes from a long career in high finance in New York. BILL LAMMERS and TED STANFORD joined as national sales directors; Lammers was previously an account director at Pattison, while Stanford represented Captivate and other Canadian media properties at Welsh Sales Solutions in Vancouver. Rounding out the new additions were GREG CIPRYK, sales executive, NICOLE THOMAS, sales planner and PAULINA IGNACAK, editor.
