On The Move: Changes at Tribal, Brand Momentum and more

A weekly update on who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

APRIL MATTINSON was announced as Brand Momentum’s new CFO. In this role, she will oversee the national sales and marketing agency’s Canadian business, including offices in Mississauga and Montreal. She brings more than 15 years of experience in finance, business analytics and marketing.  She has enhanced productivity within organizations by deploying better tools and systems and has increased growth in revenue and profits through innovative analytics and strategies. As well, SERGE KASONGO has joined the team as talent leader to head up national recruiting, and brings to the table more than 10 years of HR and recruitment experience at organizations including Suncor Energy, SNC-Lavalin Inc. and Finning Caterpillar.

Tribal Worldwide Canada appointed MARKETA KRIVY as executive creative director at the agency’s Toronto office. She will steer Tribal’s award-winning creative department, helping brands connect meaningfully with their consumers. Krivy’s 20-year career included a four-year stint at DDB Canada Toronto; she has worked with clients including Volkswagen, IKEA, Unilever, Labatt, McDonald’s, Molson and Bell.  Most recently, she served as creative director at john st. In this role, Krivy will bring a strong leadership presence and a desire to explore new ideas.

ERIC THRANE was named as VP of client services at McMillan. In his new role, Thrane will lead the McMillan account team and join the agency’s senior executives in leading and growing its business. He joins McMillan from Independent Thought, where as founder and CEO he worked directly with Fortune 500 clients in automotive, retail, CPG, financial services and technology. He has extensive experience in digital transformation and business innovation for mid-market and enterprise level organizations.

FleishmanHillard hired ZAK PAGET as an account director at the Toronto office’s public affairs practice. He comes from Queen’s Park, where he worked with two senior cabinet ministers and the premier. He’s no stranger to FH as he started his career at the agency’s Toronto office before working in government. His recent experience and background in corporate and reputation management make him an excellent choice for the growing team.

ROBERT METH was named as Metroland’s new head of national digital revenue. This is a brand new position, which is reflective of the company’s focus on digital growth. Meth will lead a team responsible for all communication around Metroland’s digital offerings with brand and agency partners. He brings more than 15 years of media experience to Metroland Media at brands including MediaCom, Rogers Media and most recently TubeMogul.
