On The Move: Changes at Twitter Canada, Shaftesbury, Provident

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

Twitter Canada named ALYSON GAUSBY as its new head of research. In this role, she will be responsible for translating consumer intelligence and data into learnings that are not only insightful for brands, but speak to the future of Canada’s ever-evolving digital ecosystem. Prior to her appointment at Twitter, Gausby was consumer insights lead at AOL and Microsoft, as well as an associate director of brand and advertising research with Ipsos in the UK.

Shaftesbury promoted JUDY LUNG to director of communications and marketing. In this role, Lung will oversee publicity, marketing and brand management for the company’s roster of award-winning television and film projects, and will also handle day-to-day corporate communications including events, advertising and sponsorships. She has more than a decade of experience in the Canadian entertainment industry, and was most recently a senior publicist at Global TV. The agency also brought on MEG CAMPBELL as a publicist in the television and film department. She was previously an associate publicist at Shaw Media/Corus Entertainment.

WOJTEK DABROWSKI exited his role as VP of communications at Manulife to start corporate communications firm Provident Communications Inc.; Manulife will be his primary client. As founder of the firm, he will continue to provide senior executive communications counsel and work with the media, in addition to developing thought leadership work, which Dabrowski did in the past for RBC’s and Manulife’s CEOs. Prior to his role at Manulife, he was the director of executive communications at RBC.
