On The Move: Hires at Cossette Vancouver, Bob and Brad

A weekly update of who's headed where in Canadian marketing and communications

Cossette Vancouver hired ADAM COLLINS as VP, head of strategy, as well as four new creatives after a string of new business wins (pictured above). Previously, Collins was the head of MacLaren McCann’s integrated strategy team in Toronto, strategy lead at Grey London in the U.K., and founder of boutique consulting firm Handmade Insights + Strategy. ANDREA TURNER (Noise Digital) and KEVIN LEE (Taxi) joined the agency as copywriters, CARLING BORNE (Cause + Effect) and MARIA STANCIULESCU (Grey Vancouver) as copywriters, and PIERRE CHAN was promoted to associate creative director.

MediaCom Canada appointed CHARMAIN EMERSON as director of new business and marketing. She has two decades of experience on both the client and agency side, including founding the PR shop Building Blocks Communications, which she ran for 10 years. Emerson was also the Canadian VP of U.K. brand FCUK, and was most recently the head of marketing for Blyth Education.

Marketplace lender FundThrough named MITCH SOLWAY as vice-president of marketing. He has over 25 years of industry experience with marketing startups such as Lavalife, FreshBooks, Vidyard and ClearFit. At FundThrough, Solway will be responsible for customer acquisition, business growth, talent acquisition, and building brand awareness. The hire comes one year after FundThrough raised $2.2 million in venture funding.

Bob brought on ALEXANDRA TRAN as a retail marketing manager. Before coming to Canada three years ago, Tran worked on accounts including McDonald’s, Shell, Unilever and Johnson & Johnson in France, Luxembourg and the U.K. With this hire, Bob hopes to consolidate its shopper marketing offer with international brands. Tran will work towards this goal and develop new opportunities.

Brad hired former Walmart SVP of operations CHANTAL GLENISSON. She will give strategic retail advice to the Quebec-based agency’s consumer goods clients including Irving, Pizza Hut, Lego, Expedia and Disney.
