18efb5cALISON LAWLER-DEAN (pictured) joined Rethink Breast Cancer as marketing and communications director. Previously, Lawler-Dean joined the public relations team at Loblaw in 2009, focusing on the apparel, home and entertainment brands. She was most recently senior PR manager for Joe Fresh. She has also held positions at Rock-it Promotions and Fashion magazine.

Ottawa-based user experience agency Soshal hired EMILY JONES JOANISSE as its senior project manager. Joanisse spent the last year as a digital producer for Fuel, where she managed the development of games and websites for companies such as Mattel, McDonald’s Europe and DreamWorks.

Toronto agency John St. has hired NIALL KELLY as creative director. Kelly, who steps into the role made vacant by Nellie Kim and Chris Hirsch in June, starts his new job on Oct. 14. He arrives from Taxi.

GCI Group promoted LISA CANCIAN from consultant to senior consultant, healthcare. Cancian joined the firm three years ago from iQ inc, where she served as communications consultant for nearly four years.

National Public Relations in Halifax promoted TARA WICKWIRE to director. She has been with the firm for nearly two years. Prior to joining National, Wickwire was director of PR at Gap Inc.

Harmony Marketing in Toronto hired PAT SURPHLIS as director, partnerships and marketing and promoted VICTORIA SYME to manager, marketing and communications.

Chango has hired KEITH LORIZIO, formerly vice-president of U.S. sales at Microsoft Advertising.
