Sandra Mackechnie named VP of digital advertising at Postmedia

Former head of digital strategy to grow the media company's digital audience

Postmedia has a new vice-president of digital advertising and strategy.

Sandra Mackechnie has been promoted to the role after a year as head of digital strategy and partnerships for the company.

In this more senior position, Mackechnie will report directly to executive vice-president and chief commercial officer Andrew MacLeod, the former BlackBerry executive who joined the media company in June.

Mackechnie has also been director of digital of sales at Postmedia. She has a long history in sales, including a stint as director of digital sales at Rogers Media.

Mackechnie has been tasked with growing the media company’s digital audience. The digital VP title is new for Postmedia and, according to Mackechnie, a sign of the importance of digital within the company.
