Amanda Ploughman will soon be stepping into the role of vice-president, marketing at Shaw Media.
The post was left vacant since the beginning of this year, when Jamie Schouela left the company. (Schouela subsequently joined Blue Ant Media as executive vice-president of marketing and communications.)
Most recently chief marketing officer at Pelmorex, a Canadian broadcast company that operates The Weather Network, Ploughman has also held senior roles at media agencies, including stints as Initiative’s EVP, director of business development for North America and MediaCom Canada’s president and CEO.
In a statement, Shaw chief marketing officer Jim Little credited Ploughman’s ability to understand both advertisers’ and consumers’ needs, and said she is “a savvy industry veteran.”
Ploughman will start with Shaw Media early next month.
