Astral adding new digital superboards in three markets

Company will have 83 large-format digital faces across Canada by the end of Q1

Astral Out of Home is adding 11 new digital faces to its inventory in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary, increasing its digital footprint across the country to 83 large-format faces.

Installation of the new digital faces is currently underway, with the rollout continuing through the end of Q1 2016. It includes seven faces in Toronto, all located between Vaughan and Markham – an area the company said is highly sought-after by advertisers yet offers “limited” out-of-home opportunities.

Jordana Fatsis, vice-president of sales for Astral Out of Home, said the company is now the exclusive provider of large-format digital advertising in those “key” neighbourhoods.

The Bell Media division is also adding three digital faces in the greater Montreal area and one in Calgary, complementing its existing inventory in Edmonton and Vancouver.

The company has also inked a new representation deal with RCC Media for static faces in the Greater Toronto area. The Toronto-based company operates billboards, bridge spectaculars and wall murals, as well as spectaculars alongside Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway.

The most recent round of expansion caps a busy year for Astral that saw it add airport inventory in Ottawa, Vancouver and Halifax, as well as an interactive component to some of its Toronto TSAs.
