Astral Media is launching an outdoor advertising service that can target the interests and buying habits of a neighbourhood.

Astral Media is launching an outdoor advertising service that can target the interests and buying habits of a neighbourhood.

Naming the new product “MARK” and calling it an “exclusive geomarketing intelligence service,” Astral said the service uses available consumer data from Statistics Canada and lifestyle and consumer surveys as well as postal codes.

“We analyze over 5,000 marketing variables in order to accurately map out consumer movement in Canada’s largest markets,” said Philippe Rene, senior director of research at the Astral Out-of-Home division.

“We can combine this expertise with our media creativity to considerably increase the impact of advertising campaigns by focusing distribution on select advertising faces where the targeted clientele live, work, shop, and play,” he said in a news release on Wednesday.

Astral Out-of-Home, a division of Astral Media, is one of Canada’s leading outdoor advertising companies. It operates more than 100 of the country’s most popular pay and specialty television, radio, out-of-home advertising and digital media properties.
