Flyers at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport now have something to watch other than just the escalator steps and each other’s weary faces.

Astral Out-of-Home revealed a video wall on the jetty for domestic flights at the airport on Tuesday. Consisting of a tight cluster of nine 55-inch monitors, the wall covers 80 square feet and uses LCD and backlit LED technology. The screens are also HD-picture quality.

At its unveiling, the video wall – the largest video advertising screen at the airport – solely displayed a campaign for Telus. The wall will be a permanent fixture at the airport and will feature Telus exclusively for one year.

Messages on the wall – which can contain videos, still images and can be altered to a specific day of the week, time of day or event – are managed from Montreal in Astral Out-of-Home’s control centre.

When it comes to exposure to the screen, the domestic jetty handles 5.2 million Canadian travelers each year.

A division of Astral Media, Astral Out-of-Home has a network of more than 9,500 advertising faces throughout Québec, Ontario and British Columbia.
