The June issue of Aux Magazine, a digital publication produced by Blue Ant Media, marks the music magazine’s first anniversary as well as its debut on the Android platform. As exclusive sponsor of the anniversary, Samsung Canada will be featured in eight issues until January 2014.

This sponsorship is one element of a broader program Samsung has with Blue Ant that includes other properties owned by the Toronto-based company.

The free monthly magazine won “Music Magazine of the Year” at the 2012 Digital Magazine Awards and is differentiating itself with its interactive elements. The sponsorship with Aux Magazine, which can now be downloaded by Android users, includes immersive page insertions as well as a sponsored feature that highlights up-and-coming artists.

“With the recent launch of the Galaxy S4 and our Samsung Infinite Possibilities contest, we look forward to not only providing the Android platform, but also providing content featuring some of Canada’s most talented artists,” said Samsung Canada’s vice-president, mobile business solutions, Paul Brannen, in a release.

Ryan Fuss, Blue Ant’s vice-president of digital solutions, said the magazine can now “reach a whole new mobile audience, globally, delivering the first fully interactive music magazine on Android.” He added that Samsung’s support of the digital magazine and commitment to connecting with audiences in new digital ways “is a testament to the fact that content marketing is a model of the future.”

Samsung’s program with Blue Ant was created by Samsung’s media agency, Starcom.
