The CTV television network plans to rebrand its A channel stations this fall as the CTV Two network.

CTV’s parent Bell Media said the new network will launch as the company transitions the stations to a high-definition signal.

The announcement was made Monday at the start of “upfront” week, when many homegrown TV stations reveal their fall lineups in a bid to seek early ad deals.

Citytv announced its lineup Monday, with the Shaw schedule set for release Tuesday. The fall slate for CTV and A channel is to be unveiled Thursday.

Bell said CTV Two will feature a mix of drama, comedy and reality programming as well as spotlighting day-to-day life in local communities in Vancouver, Victoria, Toronto, Barrie, Ont., Ottawa, London, Ont., Windsor, Ont., and Atlantic Canada through its news service.

The former A News brand will be changed into CTV News.

CTV acquired the A Channel stations in 2006 when it bought CHUM Ltd.
