Bristow Global Media (BGM), the new content company launched by former CBC programming executive Julie Bristow, has inked its first format deal, acquiring the Canadian rights to the factual series Hidden Talent, owned by American Express and Silver River productions.

The agreement was done in conjunction with GroupM Entertainment, which will co-produce the series on behalf of American Express.

The hour-long series identifies people with a hidden physical, mental, sensory or creative skill such as quickly becoming fluent in another language or the skills to become an opera singer, and gives them the ability to work with experts to further develop those skills. A series of challenges will then determine if their newfound talent has the potential to change participants’ lives.

Launched last month, BGM specializes increasing multiplatform content in several genres, including scripted, lifestyle, reality, documentary and sports. It is partnered with WPP-owned GroupM Entertainment and Fresh One Productions.
