BroadbandTV and FremantleMedia form partnership

Vancouver-based tech company BroadbandTV has closed a deal with RTL Group subsidiary FremantleMedia, that will see BroadbandTV track and manage fan-uploaded YouTube content for more than 200 FremantleMedia TV shows.

Freemantle’s programs include American Idol, The Price is Right, Baywatch and the X-Factor.

Last year, RTL Group formed a strategic partnership with BroadbandTV which saw RTL invest $36 million as part of a planned series of investments in the company.

Founded in 2005, BroadbandTV is one of the largest entertainment networks on YouTube with more than 15,000 network partners.

The London-based FremantleMedia has operations in 22 countries, and creates over 9,000 hours of programming a year.
