Terry O’Reilly has really been spreading his wings recently.

Following the announcement that his CBC-broadcast radio show Age of Persuasion would now be available in podcast form, WBEZ in Chicago has agreed to pick up the show for American broadcast.

Age of Persuasion, which as been exploring the world of advertising for four seasons (five if you count a one-season precursor called O’Reilly on Advertising), began its 52-week run on WBEZ on Jan. 8. O’Reilly called the deal “a big step” for his program.

The news follows another deal between WBEZ and CBC Radio that saw This American Life picked up in Canada. The program, which examines news and personal stories through weekly themes, is a public radio darling in the U.S., gathering 1.8 million listeners weekly and frequently topping the podcast download charts.

In a statement, This American Life‘s Peabody-winning host and executive producer Ira Glass said “We’ve heard of this mythical land to the North where the government actually supports public media. CBC Radio is great, and we’re thrilled at the chance to entertain insomniacs all across Canada.”

This first Canadian broadcast happened Jan. 9. The show will be broadcast on Sunday nights .
