Brooke Leland to lead Cossette Media’s English operations

Industry veteran returning to the shop where she began her career

Brooke Leland is returning to the agency where she began her career 17 years ago, taking on a new role as SVP, general manager of Cossette Media. She will lead the network’s Toronto and Vancouver operations.

Leland was most recently VP of connection planning at Jungle Media, Cossette’s sister agency in Vision7 Media.

She has been with Vision7 since 1999, playing a key role in developing Jungle Media’s approach to media planning while supporting co-managing directors Sheri Metcalfe and Cindy Drown in the agency’s 2010 launch.

Leland will report to Vision7 Media president Joseph Leon, partnering with SVP chief strategy officer Mike Rumble, who leads the agency’s strategy practice, to lead Cossette Media’s English Canada executive team

Leon said Leland brings a “unique and proven blend of planning leadership, media creativity and client success” to her new role.

Her two-decade career includes award-winning media work for clients including Nike, Capital One, Coca-Cola and IKEA. She recently guided Jungle’s IKEA team to Best in Show honours at the Media Innovation Awards for the retailer’s #sharethebathroom campaign.

Leon called Leland a “bold and creative thinker” who inspires great work that drives client results. “[She] will bolster an already stellar team with her fresh thinking and leadership,” he said.

Leland, who launched her career at Cossette working on its General Mills account, said the agency’s expertise in strategy, digital and analytics makes it “a force to be reckoned with.”

Cossette Media clients include Telus, Koodo, General Mills, Whirlpool and the Federal Government.
