Cairns O’Neil adds Rebecca Shropshire to leadership team

Industry vet assumes managing director role

Independent media services firm Cairns O’Neil Strategic Media has made yet another major hire, appointing former Juice Mobile and UM Canada executive Rebecca Shropshire as managing director.

Shropshire will manage client and business and focus on building what the agency described as a “market leading digital practice” grounded in quality, performance, transparency and innovation.

She has more than 17 years of industry experience, spending the nine months as vice-president of sales for Juice Mobile. She also spent time with CBC/Radio-Canada as director of digital commercial innovation and director of digital sales.

Her career has also included strategic media positions at UM Canada, Modem Media and Mediacom, as well as various marketing and promotions roles at both Labatt Breweries and Astral Media Radio.

The company said in a release that Shropshire’s addition would continue to build the momentum behind the “exponential growth” it has enjoyed since launching in 2012.

Shropshire’s hire follows the April hire of former Mindshare Canada executive Tim Hughes as managing director.

In a release, Cairns O’Neil co-founder Sherry O’Neil praised Shropshire as a “strategic leader, strong mentor and dedicated client partner,” who boasts strong industry knowledge. “Her appointment to managing director will help our clients effectively navigate the ever dynamic and complex media landscape, now and into the future,” said O’Neil.
