Carat lands Disney’s Canadian media account

The Walt Disney Company has awarded its media planning and buying business to Carat.

The Walt Disney Company has awarded its media planning and buying business to Carat.

Greg Mason, vice-president, marketing for Walt Disney Studios Canada, and Marlie Morrison, managing director of the company’s parks and resorts, issued a joint statement announcing the decision this afternoon.

The account “includes all Canadian divisions of the Walt Disney Company including the studio, parks and resorts and Disney Interactive Media Group. Transition is now underway to Carat,” they said.

The decision is in-line with the outcome of Disney’s U.S. media review that saw Carat win the parks and resorts business while Publicis took the movie studio and home entertainment portfolios.

Starcom held the account previously.
