Halifax daily newspaper The Chronicle Herald has unveiled a redesign of its print editions, including The Sunday Herald.
The updated look features new headline and text font, as well as increased white space.
According to Dan Leger, director of news content at The Chronicle Herald, these design features were added to increase ease of reading.
“We built on what we thought were the successful elements of the previous design and tried to bring it up to date,” said Leger. “It’s got a different look that’s a little easier on the eyes, perhaps, and gives our editors a little more flexibility when it comes to setting up the paper.”
In a note to readers in yesterday’s edition, the newspaper also listed several other changes, including more detailed weather information, colour-coded sections with tables of contents and financial data graphics on the front page of its business section.
Leger said the paper has been working on the redesign, which does not include any immediate changes to The Chronicle Herald‘s website, for the past several months.
