Cirque du Soleil Média, the new content venture formed last year by the global entertainment brand and Bell Media, has announced a new collaboration with Los Angeles-based Saban Brands on an original children’s property.

The new venture will include a TV series, web and interactive content, and merchandise. Saban’s existing brand portfolio includes Power Rangers, Paul Frank, the anime TV series Digimon Fusion and Popples.

Saban Brands president Elie Dekel promised that the undisclosed project would be a “groundbreaking” kids property with global appeal and “numerous” off-screen extensions. While no timetable for the venture was provided, Dekel said that the company would share additional details in the “coming months.”

“One of the most important factors of our business philosophy is to examine the creative challenge it presents,” said Cirque du Soleil Média president Jacques Méthé in a release. “With Saban Brands’… existing portfolio of energized brands, bold characters and fresh content, I am confident this is the start of an amazing partnership between two companies with similar artistic values.”
