Cossette Media has added to its executive ranks with the hire of Claude Lamoureux as senior vice-president and general manager for Quebec and Eastern Canada.
Lamoureux replaces John Tarantino, who recently left the agency after 25 years. Lamoureux joins via Cogeco, where he served as Métromédia’s general manager and vice-president of digital development for Cogeco Media.
His hire rounds out Cossette Media’s national leadership team, which also includes Brooke Leland, senior vice-president and general manager for Ontario and Western Canada and Mike Rumble, senior vice-president and chief strategy officer.
In a statement, Vision7 Media president Joseph Leon said Lamoureux brings “unique agency and media perspective” to the senior team. “He is a highly strategic thinker with a clear vision, and is the perfect fit for both Cossette Media and our partners.”
Before his tenure at Cogeco, Lamoureux held various positions at Bleublancrouge. Early in his career, he worked as a media planner at Marketel. He currently teaches media planning at Université de Sherbrooke.
Speaking of his decision to join Cossette, Lamoureux said in a statement media agencies are “currently undergoing a period of unprecedented vitality.”
“Data and technology are influencing business, brand and media strategies, and opening the door to incredible new opportunities for innovative agencies,” he said. “I’m thrilled to be joining Cossette Media, an iconic Canadian agency, already ahead of the innovation curve and propelled by a unique and talented team.”
