The Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA) – a newly created accounting body formed by a merger of the country’s major accounting organizations – has officially launched its trade publication, CPA Magazine.

The new title replaces CA Magazine and CMA Magazine, which served the Chartered Accountants of Canada and The Society of Management Accountants of Canada respectively.

The new publication will publish 10 times a year with a circulation of 180,000. It will be available as a print and digital edition, as well as a web edition available at CPACanada.ca/cpamagazine.

While CPA Magazine’s core readership is accounting professionals, publisher Cairine Wilson said the publication is also designed to cater to a broader readership. “CPA Magazine is ambitious,” said Wilson. “We aim to inform and spark discussion by being a trusted resource.”

The first issue features a cover story on Twitter Canada managing director Kirstine Stewart, accompanied by stories on cyber warfare, Bombardier’s new CSeries jet and the inaugural CPA Canada compensation survey.
