A new daytime talk series is headed to CTV this fall, inspired by social media.

Bell-owned CTV said The Social will tackle pop culture and lifestyle topics on behalf of viewers invited to connect with the hosts live through email and text messages.

The show will be co-hosted by news anchor Melissa Grelo, celebrity gossip blogger Lainey Lui, relationship expert Cynthia Loyst and entertainment reporter Traci Melchor.

CTV said the one-hour series will be produced in front of a live studio audience, feature celebrity interviews and surprise celebrity guest co-hosts.

Each episode will open with the co-hosts discussing the day’s top news stories. During the show, the panel will check in with viewers through social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The Social will air live weekday afternoons on CTV this fall.
