EMC Corp. teams with Environics Communications

The cloud-based storage provider finalizes its pick after pitch process

American multinational EMC Corp. has named Environics Communications as its public relations agency of record in Canada, following a competitive pitch process.

The global cloud storage firm’s account was previously held by High Road.

Environics will provide integrated communications services for EMC including PR, social media and influencer engagement.

“Of all the agencies we met with, only Environics presented creatively a strategic positioning that aligned to the direction we’re going as a company and demonstrated genuine understanding of the brand,” said Paulina Lopez Noriega, communications regional senior manager, Americas International, EMC, in a release.

Environics supported the company’s EMC World technology forum in Las Vegas earlier this month by developing a Canadian influencer engagement program and planning community initiatives.

Vanessa Cohen, senior vice-president of Environics Communications, says the agency will focus on building EMC’s brand reputation in Canada and deliver solid ROI by helping it make data-driven decisions and through measurement and evaluation of results.

Dell announced last fall that it was buying publicly traded EMC.
