Enterprise Canada drives off with auto show account

Toronto agency to help promote 2016 Canadian International AutoShow

The Canadian International AutoShow has named Enterprise Canada as its communications and public relations agency of record for its 2016 show in Toronto.

Enterprise Canada won a competitive bid for the account. A freelancer previously handled PR for the AutoShow, said Stephen Murdoch, vice-president of public relations at Enterprise Canada.

The agency “impressed us with its strong integrated and in–house digital and content marketing focus and expertise,” said Jason Campbell, general manager of the AutoShow, in a statement.

Campbell said Enterprise Canada would work with manufacturers, sponsors and key show exhibitors to bring AutoShow stories to local and international media and “ensure our show’s voice in the digital space is strengthened and maintained throughout the year.”

In addition to the AutoShow, Enterprise Canada provides publicity services to major shows and events including the Royal Winter Fair, Canada Blooms and the Gourmet Food and Wine Expo.

With 313,000 visitors last year, the AutoShow is one of the largest shows of its kind in North America. The 2016 show takes place Feb. 12 to 21 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and will include more than 1,000 new cars, trucks and SUVs as well as concept cars, classic cars, motorcycles and alternative energy vehicles.
