Faulhaber Communications is paying it forward to millennials as a way to celebrate its 15th anniversary this year.
The lifestyle marketing and public relations agency, which turns 15 in November, has launched a multi-channel digital campaign that is “less about promoting ourselves and more about sort of giving back,” says Faulhaber president and CEO Christine Faulhaber.
“The reality is there’s such a boatload of expertise and insights from what we’ve learned over those years that we want to share.”
She says the agency is packaging 15 years of learning into the kind of “smart, snackable tips” that its engaged millennial followers are seeking.
“They absolutely engage with us when we talk to them about how to network, what to wear, how to navigate the workplace and how to navigate the world.”
Much of the content in the six-month long #F15YRS campaign will be on Faulhaber’s newly-launched Snapchat account. Content will also go on existing channels that include Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and theFdrive.com, which have a combined reach of more than 35,000.
As part of the campaign, the agency has launched a series called “10 seconds with,” that involves high-profile people talking about trends, how-to and keys to success. Participants so far include eTalk reporter Danielle Graham and HGTV and Entertainment Tonight Canada personality Sangita Patel.
“It’s fun. It gives us a way to engage in a new format,” Faulhaber says. “You’re going to meet people in our network and learn things from them.”
The video interviews and vlogs will include everything from tips on fashion to design trends from visitors to its FShoppe product placement showroom at its Liberty Village office.
“Every time there’s a new meeting or somebody comes in, they’re a potential collaborator on some cool content or some cool career-minded advice,” Faulhaber says. “If I’m interviewing a young student, the question they want to know is ‘how can I make it? How do I get ahead? How do I be better than the next person?’ I feel that it’s our duty to help them see the way.”
As a result, there will be TBT (Throwback Thursday) items that include “How did we get started? What did year five look like? How do you grow a company?,” she says.
“I can help people and inspire them and help them hatch their own plan. We want to take a mentorship role.”
The “thought leadership” items will interest not only people interested in PR, but everyone from illustrators to stylists and also serve as a business development tool, Faulhaber says.
The agency has also hired Andrea Anders as a new director. Anders, who was previously at Citizen Relations and has more than a decade of PR experience, will be working on brand strategy, business development and accounts.
Faulhaber now has 19 employees and clients that include Interior Design Show, Bugaboo, Charlotte Tilbury, Dermalogica, National Bank and Ted Baker London.
