Former CTV producer steps into VP role at Weber Shandwick

Karning Hum joins the firm's creative team

Karning Hum 2_CropFormer CTV producer and director Karning Hum has been named vice-president of media and creative strategy at Weber Shandwick Canada in Toronto.

Hum will join Weber Shandwick’s creative team where he will work to bolster the firm’s storytelling creativity to help drive earned stories.

Hum has more than 20 years of experience as a broadcast media producer and director. At CTV, he was a producer and director for Canada AM, MTV Canada and the NHL Network and contributed to CTV News Channel, CP24 and BNN. He has covered everything from the Oscars, Olympics and Junos to the Mayerthorpe tragedy, international auto shows and political elections. He has produced interviews with newsmakers, politicians, business people and celebrities like Al Gore, Bradley Cooper, Justin Trudeau, Jane Goodall and Conrad Black.

“The communications landscape is undergoing an explosive evolution and the importance of finding the right story and telling it to the right people has never been more important or more complicated,” said Greg Power, president, Weber Shandwick Canada, in a statement. “Karning brings an invaluable wealth of experience on the frontlines of storytelling that will complement our ability to define and disseminate client narratives.”
