Former Dragon Wilson to star in Slice series

It already has some fire-breathing Real Housewives, but Shaw Media has added a bona fide dragon to its lineup.

It already has some fire-breathing Real Housewives, but Shaw Media has added a bona fide dragon to its lineup.

The broadcaster announced today that Brett Wilson, a former star of CBC Television’s hit series Dragon’s Den, will star in an upcoming reality series on Slice called Risky Business.

Debuting this fall, the 13-episode series will follow novice investors as they debate whether to risk their savings on high-risk investment opportunities.

Wilson, who described reality television as “contrived reality” in an interview with Maclean’s earlier this year, will provide counsel to rookie investors evaluating what Shaw described as “unusual” investment opportunities – such as vintage wine labels or a “high stakes one-night-only” event.

“With [Wilson’s] star power and financial expertise, we think Risky Business will hit a chord with viewers who are looking for new ways to realize their financial dreams,” said Barbara Williams, Shaw Media’s senior vice-president of content, in a release.
