Claude Galipeau has left his role as senior vice-president and general manager, digital media at Rogers Media.
The announcement was made by Rogers Media president Keith Pelley in an e-mail to staff Wednesday afternoon. He said a new chief digital officer to replace Galipeau would be announced shortly.
“Claude Galipeau and I have been working closely with the new chief digital officer on strategic and financial plans for the digital division,” Pelley said. “With this transition on the horizon, today Claude informed me that he has decided to leave Rogers; and together we decided that it would be best to effect this decision immediately.”
Galipeau, an IAB Canada board member, along with his team, have been involved in several major initiatives in the last 12 months, including the acquisition of BV Media and the formation of a partnership with Vuguru, a new media entertainment studio owned by former Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner.
“I respect Claude’s decision to leave Rogers and wish him every success in his next opportunity,” Pelley said. “I want to thank Claude for his leadership of the Digital division during the last two years and especially for his support and cooperation with this leadership transition.”
