Showing a commitment to this country’s display business, Google Canada has hired two new senior team members.
Marshall Self has been appointed head of display at Google Canada and will be responsible for advertising sales across the Google Display Network and YouTube.
He was previously director of sales at AOL Canada, a role that focused on generating revenue on AOL’s owned and operated sites as well as Advertising.com, its display and sponsored listings ad network. Self also did a stint as an account director at IDC Canada. He is a board member at IAB Canada.
Also announced today was the appointment of Jeremy Butteriss as director, strategic partnerships at Google Canada.
Butteriss previously led the broadband entertainment division at Rogers Communications, where he developed digital media strategies. He helped launch and manage Rogers on Demand Online. Butteriss also previously worked at The Boston Consulting Group and helped launch two internet ventures: NRX and Skulogix.
“With Canada boasting the most engaged audience online and the highest per capita viewership of online video, there remains a significant opportunity for display in Canada,” the company said in a release.
