Groupe V Média appoints Sylvain Venne as sales VP

Sales veteran's previous stops include Quebecor and Gesca

Groupe V Média has appointed veteran sales executive Sylvain Venne as its vice-president of sales. Venne had served as general manager of local and regional sales since September, and was also named interim GM of sales in December.

“Ever since Sylvain arrived at the company, his work and successful endeavours have shown us that he owns all the skills needed to be VP of sales,” said Group V Média president and CEO Maxime Rémillard, in a release.

Venne is charged with growing advertising revenue at a national, regional and local level, as well as instilling “media creativity” with the implementation of what the company described as “innovative business solutions.”

He previously held management-level positions in local and regional sales at several Quebec-based media companies, including Quebecor, Gesca and Rhthme FM.

Groupe V Média operates the Quebec conventional channel V as well as the specialty services MusiquePlus and MusiMax, which it acquired from Bell Media in December.
