Rogers Media announced Wednesday that senior vice-president of media sales Jack Tomik is leaving the company at the end of the month.

The company said his departure follows the successful implementation of its integrated multiplatform sales model, One Call. Al Dark, the former CBC sales executive who joined Rogers earlier this year, will replace Tomik effective Nov. 3. Tomik will work with Dark, who the company described as a “key leader” on Tomik’s current sales team, to ensure a seamless transition.

Tomik joined Rogers in 2012 after stints with the former Canwest Global Communications and the CBC. At the time of his hire, he was charged with building the company’s new sales service model.

“The architecture is complete, and the structure and the people are in place,” said Rogers Media president Keith Pelley, in a release. “Jack has done an outstanding job and laid a solid foundation for Al to continue driving forward the One Call framework.”

Pelley called Dark the “logical” successor to Tomik. “During his six months at Rogers, Al has delivered holistic advertising solutions to best serve clients’ needs and has a proven track record in driving revenue,” said Pelley. “Al is well positioned to take the reins at Rogers Media Sales to drive continued growth.”

Dark has more than 17 years of experience in broadcast and digital media sales, integrated media developments, sales strategy, strategic planning and business development.

He served as general manger of The Revenue Group at CBC from 2012, leading sales, marketing, digital, innovation, revenue management, sales operations, licensing and affiliate sales teams responsible for all products within the public broadcaster’s media portfolio. His resume also includes stints with several prominent media companies including the now defunct Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting, CanWest MediaWorks and CTV.
