Kiss 92.5 turns to Snoop Dogg for new campaign

Snoop barks for Rogers radio station... izzle?

Toronto radio station Kiss 92.5 has gone to the Dogg.

The Rogers Media-owned station has enlisted hip-hip icon Snoop Dogg to appear in a series of 30-second spots that feature him reading fan mail from its more than 81,000 Facebook followers.

Each of the spots – shot at Toronto’s Soho Metropolitan Hotel in June – opens on the so-called “Dogg Father” clad in an Adidas tracksuit and Adidas shoes sitting in a red velvet “throne,” a ceramic dog at his side and gold-handled cane resting on his leg.

The spots open with a voiceover stating “And now…Snoop Dogg reading listener fan mail for Kiss 92.5” and the station logo. One of the spots features Snoop relaying the message “Dear Kiss 92.5, please stop sending cool hypnotic signals to my brain. I’m on to you. And I refuse to obey your commands. And no, I’m not crazy,” while another shows him silently reading. Each spot ends with Snoop telling viewers “Welcome to the party.”

Created in-house, the ads will appear on TV and online (including Kiss 92.5’s Facebook page) for the next two months.
