Mindshare retains Canadian Unilever assignment

CPG giant awards GroupM network assignment in 60 markets

Mindshare Canada has retained Unilever’s media assignment after the packaged goods giant announced the GroupM network would now handle its business in 60 markets.

The announcement capped off a nearly 12-month review that began in January.

Mindshare Canada will continue work with the packaged goods giant, whose brands include Dove, Axe, Becel, Lipton and Knorr, in North America, but the company has expanded the network’s purview to include additional markets in both central and eastern Europe.

In Canada, Mindshare has worked with Unilever since 2010, when the CPG company moved the assignment from Omnicom’s PHD network.

PHD continues to handle the assignment in Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, while Interpublic Group’s Initiative will oversee the assignment in Latin America and Greece.

Mindshare’s global CEO Nick Emery said in addition to being one of the world’s largest advertisers, Unilever is among its “most progressive.”

“It is a great privilege and also a great reflection on our teams that we now work with Unilever in 60 markets across all continents,” he said in a release.
