National Public Relations hired for Montreal fête

PR agency will execute a communications plan around city's 375th anniversary next year

National Public Relations has been hired to execute a strategic communication plan for Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations next year.

The agency was chosen after a call for offers from the Société des celebrations du 375e anniversaire de Montréal, the non-profit organization that is overseeing the celebrations for the city’s 375th anniversary in 2017.

The communication plan itself was created by a collective of PR firms from Quebec, the Alliance des cabinets de relations publiques du Québec (ACRPQ), that accepted an invitation from the 375th anniversary organizing committee to join forces to help promote next year’s celebrations.

Twelve ACRPQ members participated in creating the strategic communication plan that National has now been tasked with executing: Bicom, National, Capital-Image, Cohn & Wolfe, Direction communications stratégiques, Edelman, Hill + Knowlton, Massy Forget Langlois Relations publiques, Morin Relations publiques, Octane Stratégies, Tact Intelligence-Conseil and Weber Shandwick.

“Beyond the competitiveness that is at the heart of an industry like ours, respect and synergy prevailed between our firms during this unique process, which translated into a quality communication plan that has really guided the 375th anniversary team,” said ACRPQ president Pierre Gince, in a statement.

In a similar vein, five members of the Conseil des directeurs medias du Québec – Cossette Média, Jungle Media, Marketel, OMD and Havas Media – accepted the organizing committee’s invitation to collaborate on a media plan for the event.

Cossette has been selected to execute the media plan.
