Montreal-based marketing firm Newad has expanded its out-of-home and experiential network by partnering with sports facility operator Canlan Ice Sports.

The deal gives Newad and its advertising partners access to a range of inventory, including ice-surface logos, rink board ads and Zamboni wraps in 15 Canlan facilities in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario. Newad will also implement experiential marketing programs in Canlan facilities.

Newad and Canlan officially announced the deal Tuesday after a trial period that began earlier this year, during which Newad ran programs for Ford and Campbell’s Chunky Soup in Canlan rinks.

“It made sense to grow our sport network because, more and more, the young and affluent are exercising and interested in a healthy lifestyle,” said David Vance, sales manager, indoor advertising for Newad. “And it made sense to partner with someone who can deliver a consistent, quality product nationally.”

Newad plans to roll out new campaigns at Canlan locations in September, including one for a major automotive company.

Canlan owns 21 ice sport facilities in Canada and the U.S.
