OMAC updates mapping tool

Now provides information on 90% of Canadian out-of-home inventory

The Out-of-home Marketing Association of Canada (OMAC) has updated its interactive mapping tool to include the inventory of all its member companies including its two newest members – Clear Channel Canada and Quebecor Out-of-Home

OMAC president Rosanne Caron said the tool currently provides marketers and agencies with information on an estimated 90% of the country’s static and digital out-of-home inventory.

The online tool allows users to create maps for OMAC members including Astral Out-of-home, Clear Channel, Cogeco Metromedia, Lamar Transit, Outfront Media, Pattison Outdoor and Quebecor Media Out-of-home.

The map provides information for the country’s five largest markets, and allows users to specify the name of the out-of-home advertising company and search for inventory via ad format (backlit, murals, horizontal, etc.).

The interactive map tool uses data from the July 2015 data report from the Canadian Out-of-home Measurement Bureau.

In other out-of-home news, transit-advertising leader Pattison Outdoor recently signed a multi-year deal with York Region Transit to sell advertising on the Regional Municipality of York’s bus fleet.

The deal covers an estimated 525 buses serving the municipalities of Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Whitchurch-Stouffville and King Township. The 1,776 square-kilometre region is home to approximately 1.2 million people.

Pattison president Randy Otto said the partnership adds to the company’s growing Ontario transit portfolio, which includes the Toronto Transit Commission, Durham Region Transit, Oakville Transit and Milton Transit.
