OverCat Communications launches one-stop press hub

Users can download press materials 24/7

OverCat Communications has launched a “Media Hub” on its website, which allows users to access and download current news releases and high and low resolution photos from its beauty and lifestyle clients.

The password protected portal is organized by brand, and contains a shopping cart feature to collect images and releases and a one-step checkout to send emails to users.

“I have not seen anything as comprehensive as this,” says Audrey Hyams Romoff, president of OverCat Communications of the portal that was built specially for the agency.

“The whole genesis of it was that people are working 24/7 now,” she says. “Here’s a way for somebody who’s working at 2 o’clock in the morning to be able to access something. We thought it would be an invaluable resource.”

The Media Hub could also be useful for smaller clients who are seeking media exposure, but can’t afford a broad-based communications campaign, she says.  Smaller clients can host their press materials on the site for a flat hosting fee, allowing them to make their press materials and images available to media.

“People are being very conscious of their budgets and we thought maybe there was an opportunity as well to work with smaller clients who couldn’t afford a comprehensive campaign, but might be interested in working with us if it will be a high traffic site.”

Major OverCat clients include Estée Lauder, Shoppers Drug Mart, Winners, HomeSense, Marshalls and Olsen Europe.
