Pinty’s takes over TSN curling sponsorship

Adds curling to list of sports sponsorships including Toronto Blue Jays and NASCAR

Pinty’s is getting ready to rock with a new sponsorship deal with TSN.

The Burlington, Ont.-based food manufacturer has added curling to an extensive list of sports sponsorships that includes the Toronto Blue Jays, tennis star Genie Bouchard and NASCAR, with title sponsorship of TSN’s annual All-Star Curling Skins Game. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The launch of the rechristened Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins Game coincides with the announcement that a women’s competition is returning to the event for the first time since 2003. The addition of the women’s game doubles TSN’s broadcast coverage, from nine to 18 hours.

Pinty’s is prominently featured across several TSN properties, including the Bell Media channel’s coverage of CFL, NFL, Grand Slam tennis, NASCAR and Skate Canada.

“It’s wonderful to have a sponsor like Pinty’s on board, one who is so engaged and committed to growing the sport,” said TSN president Stewart Johnston, in a release. “By adding the top women’s curlers, this year’s event will truly be an all-star weekend and a celebration of curling and its place in the Canadian sporting landscape.”

Pinty’s takes over sponsorship of the annual curling event from insurance company Dominion of Canada, which entered into a multi-year sponsorship agreement with TSN in 2012.

The 2015 edition of the event will take place Jan. 16-18 at the Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre in Banff National Park.
