The chairman of Pixman Nomadic Media Inc., Daniel Langlois, has become interim chief executive while the company’s board seeks a replacement for Philippe Gribeauval, who has resigned as CEO, president and director.

The company announced two weeks ago that it would reduce spending and temporarily reduce its workforce as a result of its weak sales performance over the first nine months of 2009.

The company said Gribeauval and other members of the board had agreed on his departure.

Pixman said Tuesday that it’s in the process of reorganizing its corporate structure but said details would be released at a later time. It said essential activities such as customer service will be maintained.

“While we are disappointed that the company’s sales forecast and objectives have not been met, it is important to understand that our main business model does not rely only on short term revenues derived from traditional advertising campaigns,” said Langlois, chairman and former CEO of the company, in a statement.

Pixman has developed its own patented multimedia system that provides an alternative means of promoting brands, products and services to consumers through mobile devices.

The company has also developed PixPal, which is intended to create virtual communities that allow users to interact with each other.

“The company has made significant progress in developing this new marketing solution and we feel confident that Pixman no longer needs to focus on the operational deployment of traditional advertising campaigns in order to reach its full potential,” said Langlois.
