Toronto-based Postmedia Network has beefed up its sales operation with a pair of management appointments.

Shelley Middlebrook has joined the company as its vice-president of integrated sales, where she will lead its national digital sales team in Toronto and the integrated (print and digital) team in Montreal.

Middlebrook has more than 15 years of media management experience, most recently as national sales manager with The Globe and Mail – a position she held for nearly four years.

She was also the founding publisher of the Rogers Publishing title Hello! and was national sales manager at CBC Television from 2003-2006. Her career also includes a stint at custom publishing company Kontent Publishing.

Postmedia has also promoted Gary Olesinski to the newly created role of mobile sales manager. Olesinski has been with Postmedia and its forerunner Canwest since 2005. Prior to that, he worked as an account manager with the Toronto Star for 25 years.

Olesinski reports directly into Middlebrook, who in turn reports into Bill Neill, Postmedia Network’s EVP.

This week’s moves follow the recent appointment of former Torstar Digital executive vice-president Simon Jennings to the newly created role of chief revenue and digital officer.
