Postmedia has struck a partnership with Victoria, B.C.-based digital sports video agency SendtoNews that will see it carry its sports highlight packages across its network of newspaper websites, including NationalPost.com, VancouverSun.com, CalgaryHerald.com and OttawaCitizen.com.

The Toronto-based media company also becomes SendtoNews’ exclusive sales representative for advertising and brand sponsorship programs.

SendtoNews packages web-ready sports content from premium sports brands including the NFL and NASCAR, as well as baseball and hockey highlights. The packages include pre and post-game coverage, game highlights, interviews and news.

The packages also include several advertising options, including pre-roll, in-video brand overlays, top bar brand visibility, virtual scoreboards and in-stream advertising. Marketers can target fans by market or sports preference.

“Representing SendtoNews is a great addition to our already broad portfolio, further extending our advertising reach,” said Brandon Grosvenor, senior vice-president of sales for Postmedia Network, in a release.

He called SendtoNews’ sports footage a “wonderful complement” to Postmedia’s online sports sections. The company’s websites reach approximately 6.9 million monthly unique visitors according to comScore Canada.
