Toronto-based Canadian Primedia Sales and Marketing has become the exclusive national sales representative for the Brandon Sun and seven other Winnipeg community newspapers within the Canstar Community News chain, effective Sept. 1.

Primedia will fold the new responsibility into its existing English newspaper sales team, which consists of eight representatives from offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, said Primedia president, Ron Clark.

“We’re confident of being able to show growth…this is sort of an injection of new vigour and talent directed at the business, so I’m confident we’ll show some gains,” said Clark.

The Brandon Sun publishes daily and reaches over 84% of the region’s adult population. The Canstar Community News publishes The Herald, Lance, Metro, Times, Headliner, Uptown and The Prime Times and has a combined distribution of 180,000 per week in Winnipeg.
