There’s a new role at the top tier of UM Canada, and Richard Fofana has been hired to fill it.
In his new post as vice-president, strategy, Fofana – who was most recently VP planning and integrated strategy at Lowe Roche – will advance UM Canada’s branded content offerings and interact between business groups, communication partners and the agency’s clients to “help propel thought leadership, creative collaboration and strategic discipline,” according to the company.
Fofana previously led planning at Taxi 2 and was also director of communications planning at ZenithOptimedia. He spent more than seven years at Publicis Canada, where he led strategic planning.
Fofana will report to Shelley Smit, UM Canada’s president. Smit told Marketing that Fofana’s breadth of experience “will compliment the talent at UM and further enhance our integrated marketing solutions approach with clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola, Boston Pizza and Labatt Breweries.”
