Film critic and author Roger Ebert will preside over a celluloid-themed tweet-off Saturday at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Actor Rainn Wilson and director James Gunn will be among a panel of six Twitter-savvy contestants who will respond, in the requisite 140 characters or less, to Ebert’s statements about the film industry.

Audience members will judge each tweet, taking into account the tweeter’s use of wit and originality.

The rest of the panel will be comprised of film critics David Poland, Eric Kohn, and Scott Tobias, as well as Grace Wang, a correspondent with Ebert’s website, RogerEbert.com. MTV’s Dan Levy will host the event.

Twitter enthusiasts can follow the competition online at twitter.com/TIFF_NET/ebert-s-twitter-showdown, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
